According to a report by Flashscore on Tuesday October 27, 2026, Arsenal failed to take full advantage of their second-half opportunities against Fleetwood, with Viktor Gyokeres scoring in the 50th minute to bring the Carabao Cup tie level at 1-1.
The Gunners created several chances to take the lead but were repeatedly denied by Jay Lynch and Fleetwood's defenders. Max Dowman, Kai Havertz, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Martin Odegaard had frustrating moments during the second half as Arsenal continued their push for a place in the quarter-finals.
1. Max Dowman
Max Dowman struggled to make his opportunities count during the second half. In the 55th minute, the youngster created space inside the penalty area and fired towards the right side of the goal, but Jay Lynch produced an excellent save to deny him. Dowman tried again in the 73rd minute with an effort from the edge of the box, although his shot lacked the power to trouble the Fleetwood goalkeeper. His evening became more difficult in the 85th minute when he received a red card for a foul. The decision appeared harsh, but his dismissal left Arsenal with a numerical disadvantage as they searched for a winner.
2. Kai Havertz
Kai Havertz endured a frustrating second half despite finding himself in promising positions. In the 55th minute, he reacted quickly to a rebound inside the box and sent a shot towards goal, only for a Fleetwood defender to clear it off the line. Four minutes later, Havertz received a pass from Martin Odegaard but sent his effort narrowly wide of the left post. His attempt from the edge of the box was blocked in the 62nd minute. In stoppage time, he missed another excellent opportunity by heading Eberechi Eze's cross just wide.
3. Myles Lewis-Skelly
Myles Lewis-Skelly failed to make a decisive impact in the second half. His attempted pass was blocked by a Fleetwood defender in the 48th minute, while his effort from the edge of the box in the 56th minute flew well wide. He was substituted in the 82nd minute as Mikel Arteta introduced Ezri Konsa.
4. Martin Odegaard
Martin Odegaard struggled to provide the decisive finish Arsenal needed after coming on at half-time. Although he created an opportunity for Havertz in the 59th minute, his own effort from the edge of the box in stoppage time was comfortably saved by Jay Lynch. Arsenal therefore remained level as the tie continued towards its conclusion.
