Chelsea have decided whether to sell Estevão Willian, with Arsenal among the clubs reportedly monitoring the Brazilian winger.
According to a report from Football365 on Tuesday, November, 03, 2026, the London club are not planning to part with the 19-year-old despite interest from Mikel Arteta’s side.
Estevão has had a limited role for Chelsea this season under manager Xabi Alonso. However, Alonso handed the teenager a starting place for the Premier League match against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, where Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory.
The Brazil international made a significant impact. He attempted six shots, put three on target, created three chances and saw two efforts ruled out for offside.
His performance drew praise from former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who highlighted the winger’s directness and willingness to shoot.
“He’s really exciting. He’s great to watch,” Gerrard said on source, “Your typical Brazilian where it’s about flair, it’s about quality, but I really like that he is very direct. I like that he is hungry to get shots off.”
Gerrard contrasted Estevão’s approach with what he sees as a tendency among some Liverpool attackers to look for an extra pass instead of taking an opportunity to shoot.
He particularly admired one move in which the winger combined with a teammate before striking across goal from the left.
The latest display could strengthen the view at Chelsea that Estevão remains an important part of their plans.
While his appearances have been limited so far, his performance against United offered a reminder of the qualities that made him one of Brazil’s most highly regarded young talents.
Arsenal’s reported interest adds another layer to the situation, but Chelsea’s position suggests they are unwilling to consider a sale at this stage.
The club appear keen to give the winger time to establish himself under Alonso, rather than allow a rival to benefit from his potential.
Estevão’s place in the starting line-up may not guarantee a regular role, but his lively showing against United gives him a strong case for further opportunities.
For now, Chelsea’s priority appears to be developing the teenager, even as attention from Arsenal and other clubs grows.
