According to the London Evening Standard on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Arsenal youngster Ismeal Kabia is expected to remain unavailable until after the November international break following a calf injury sustained during his loan spell at Scottish Premiership club St Mirren.
The 20-year-old winger suffered a calf tear that has turned out to be more serious than initially expected, forcing him to spend additional time away from competitive football.
Kabia picked up the injury during St Mirren's 2-1 victory over Dundee on October 24. He was unable to continue playing and has since missed the club's subsequent matches against Hibernian and Motherwell.
St Mirren manager Craig McLeish initially revealed that the results of the medical scans showed a more concerning problem than the club had anticipated. He explained that further examinations were needed to establish the full extent of the injury.
Providing an update on the situation, McLeish confirmed that Kabia had suffered a calf problem, with the scan results indicating that the injury was worse than first thought.
The manager later offered a more detailed explanation ahead of St Mirren's trip to Motherwell, revealing that the Arsenal loanee had sustained a small tear in his calf. He also suggested that the youngster was unlikely to return before the November international break.
McLeish further disclosed that Arsenal would carry out their own medical assessment to monitor the situation and determine the appropriate recovery programme for the winger.
The injury comes as a disappointing setback for Kabia, who had been enjoying regular opportunities with St Mirren as part of his development. His loan spell was providing him with valuable experience and the chance to develop his abilities through consistent first-team football.
Arsenal are expected to remain closely involved in monitoring his recovery while maintaining communication with the Scottish club. The international break could give the youngster additional time to recover before undergoing another medical assessment.
For now, Kabia will focus on recovering fully from the calf tear rather than rushing his return to action. His comeback date will depend on how quickly the injury heals and the results of further medical examinations.
