According to a report by Football London on Thursday October 22, 2026, Arsenal youngster Max Dowman suffered a brief injury scare before the Gunners' Champions League clash against Bayern Munich after an accidental incident involving team-mate Ben White during the pre-match warm-up.
The 16-year-old was preparing for Wednesday night's encounter at the Allianz Arena when the incident occurred. Dowman playfully attempted to dispossess White as the Arsenal defender shielded the ball, grabbing his arm in an effort to win possession.
However, as White attempted to move away, he accidentally stepped on the teenager's foot, leaving Dowman hopping around in discomfort for a few moments.
The pair appeared to take the incident lightly, with White shrugging his shoulders while Dowman laughed off the pain. The young midfielder subsequently returned to the warm-up, although he initially appeared to move somewhat gingerly.
Fortunately, Dowman soon looked comfortable again and showed no obvious signs of difficulty when the coaching staff began the scheduled exercises.
Neither Dowman nor White featured in Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, with both players remaining on the bench throughout the encounter.
While Dowman's situation appeared to be relatively minor, Arsenal had more significant injury concerns to deal with after Bukayo Saka was forced off during the opening 10 minutes of the match.
The England international suffered a quad injury and was replaced by Eberechi Eze, leaving manager Mikel Arteta concerned about the winger's condition.
Speaking after the game, Arteta admitted that the initial signs were worrying, explaining that Saka had experienced sharp pain before being substituted.
The Arsenal boss subsequently reiterated his concerns during his post-match press conference, although he stressed that further assessment would be required to determine the extent of the problem.
Saka's injury could prove to be a significant setback for Arsenal, given his importance to the team's attacking play. His potential absence would place greater responsibility on the likes of Eze and other attacking options to help maintain the club's momentum.
