Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru delivered an impressive performance off the bench, providing an assist as Lazio recorded a commanding 6-2 away victory over Sassuolo in Serie A on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
The Nigerian international played a key role in the second half at the Mapei Stadium, setting up Dutch forward Tijjani Noslin for his second goal of the match as Lazio extended their impressive run in the Italian top flight.
Dele-Bashiru started the encounter on the bench but was introduced at half-time in place of Kenneth Taylor, with Lazio leading 4-2 after an eventful first half.
Taylor opened the scoring for the visitors in the second minute before Sassuolo responded through Kristian Thorstvedt five minutes later.
Lazio quickly regained control of the contest, with Gustav Isaksen restoring their lead in the 13th minute before Romano Floriani Mussolini increased the advantage three minutes later.
Sassuolo attempted to fight back, with Sebastiano Esposito finding the net in the 43rd minute to reduce the deficit. However, Mattia Zaccagni struck in first-half stoppage time to restore Lazio’s two-goal cushion.
The hosts’ hopes of mounting a comeback suffered a major setback in the 31st minute when Thorstvedt received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Zaccagni, leaving Sassuolo with 10 men for the remainder of the encounter.
Lazio maintained their dominance after the break, with Noslin scoring in the 55th minute to extend the visitors’ lead to 5-2.
The Dutch forward completed his brace in the 65th minute, converting Dele-Bashiru’s assist to seal the emphatic victory for Lazio.
Although Lazio missed two penalties during the second half, Noslin’s brace ensured that the visitors finished the match with a comfortable four-goal margin.
The victory moved Lazio to the top of the Serie A standings with 25 points from nine matches, having recorded eight wins and one draw.
They went three points clear of Inter Milan, who were scheduled to face Venezia on Wednesday, leaving Lazio provisionally at the summit of the Italian league.
