According to a report by The Vanguard on Friday, October 23, 2026, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has suffered a devastating double blow off the pitch after his home was burgled while he was away on European club duty in Italy.

According to media reports, the distressing incident occurred on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, as the Red Devils slumped to a heavy 4-1 defeat against Como in the Champions League.

Fortunately, preliminary police investigations confirmed that Fernandes’ beloved family members were not present at the property when the criminal break-in took place.

Cheshire Police stated that emergency officers rushed to the Alderley Park area of Nether Alderley around 8:30 pm following urgent reports of suspicious activity.

Concerned callers had spotted three unknown men lingering suspiciously in the rear garden of a neighbouring residence.

Although responding officers found no immediate trace of the suspects upon arrival, they discovered that a burglary had occurred and several valuable items were stolen.

Detective Inspector David Jarvis of Macclesfield Proactive CID noted that the active investigation remains at an early stage as local police work tirelessly to identify culprits.

Authorities have urged anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward quickly and assist ongoing inquiries.

This unfortunate security breach compounds an already extremely difficult period for the troubled English club. The heavy defeat in Como extended United's alarming winless streak to seven matches across all competitions.

0Following the match, Fernandes publicly questioned the tactical approach of head coach Michael Carrick, strongly criticizing the decision not to press opponents man-to-man.

Despite mounting pressure and fierce scrutiny over poor performances, Carrick is expected to remain in charge for Sunday's crucial Premier League fixture against Bournemouth.
