Confirmed: Five Barcelona players named in Spain squad for Nations League fixtures

According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday November 6, 2026, Barcelona will have five representatives in the Spain national team after manager Luis de la Fuente announced his squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Czechia and England.

The Spanish national team is preparing for two important matches during the November international break, with the reigning world champions set to travel to face Czechia on November 12 before hosting England three days later, on November 15.

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia, defender Pau Cubarsi, midfielders Pedri and Fermin Lopez, and forward Lamine Yamal have all been included in De la Fuente's selection.

The five players will now have an opportunity to represent their country and strengthen their positions in the national team ahead of future international competitions.

Lamine Yamal remains one of Spain's most important attacking players, while Pedri continues to be a key figure in the midfield.

Cubarsi's inclusion further highlights the growing importance of Barcelona's young defensive talent to the Spanish national team. Fermin Lopez has also earned another opportunity to impress De la Fuente following his performances for the Catalan club.

Joan Garcia's selection is another positive development for Barcelona, with the goalkeeper receiving recognition from the national team manager.

However, there are some notable absentees from the Barcelona squad.

Spain captain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been left out after suffering an injury during his team's previous match against Aston Villa. The midfielder is expected to be sidelined for close to a month.

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has also missed out because of an injury.

Meanwhile, Gavi has not been included in the squad, with his lack of regular playing time under Barcelona manager Hansi Flick in recent weeks reportedly contributing to his omission.

Other Barcelona players who failed to receive call-ups include Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal and Alejandro Balde.

Gavi's absence is particularly notable given his previous importance to the Spanish national team. The midfielder will now have to work towards regaining his place by securing more regular playing time at club level.

For Barcelona, having five players included in Spain's squad represents another indication of the club's influence on the national team.
