Chelsea fans have overwhelmingly backed the possibility of signing Nico Paz after the Argentine midfielder was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge under head coach Xabi Alonso, according to a report by Football London on Friday, October 23, 2026.
The reported interest in the Como star has generated considerable excitement among supporters, unlike several previous transfer decisions that divided opinion. Chelsea’s summer acquisitions, including Maxence Lacroix, Pep Chavarria and Marco Palestra, faced questions from some fans regarding their ability to meet the club’s expectations.
Paz, however, appears to have won over much of the fanbase, with supporters viewing him as a potentially outstanding addition to Alonso’s squad. Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the 21-year-old, who has established himself as one of Argentina’s most exciting emerging footballers.
According to reports, Chelsea scouts watched the midfielder in action during Como’s 3-2 loss to Feyenoord before assessing him again in their 3-1 win over Fiorentina. Paz made a significant contribution to the latter result by scoring once and providing an assist.
His impressive display against Manchester United also attracted attention, as Como secured a convincing 4-1 victory. Paz found the net twice, showcasing the creativity and goal-scoring ability that have made him an attractive prospect for several European clubs.
The growing speculation has prompted Chelsea supporters to call on Clearlake Capital to do everything possible to bring the Argentine to London, even if the deal requires a substantial financial commitment.
One fan expressed complete confidence in the club’s leadership if it managed to complete the transfer, saying, “If they can pull off a deal for him, I’ll back this board my entire life.” Another supporter made their feelings clear by insisting that Chelsea should sign him.
Several others described Paz as one of the best attacking midfielders available after Cole Palmer, pointing to his recent performances and the quality he could bring to the team.
His versatility could make him particularly valuable to Alonso. Paz could challenge Palmer and Morgan Rogers for a place in the number ten position, while his physical qualities might allow him to feature in alternative attacking roles when required.
Despite the growing excitement, Chelsea are unlikely to find negotiations straightforward. Paz has accumulated 45 goals and assists across 85 appearances for Como, making him an increasingly sought-after player.
Real Madrid could also complicate the situation because reports indicate that they hold a £70 million buyback clause in his contract. This arrangement could give the Spanish giants an important advantage in determining his next destination.
For Chelsea to complete the move, Alonso may need to play a decisive role in persuading Paz that Stamford Bridge is the ideal place to continue his development and advance his career.
