According to Channels television, Tottenham Hotspur recorded a 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Cole Palmer sent off as Roberto De Zerbi’s side secured their second consecutive Premier League win.
Tottenham took the lead in the 77th minute after Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders made a costly error, before Mathys Tel scored a brilliant individual goal to seal the victory.
The result marked Tottenham’s first win at Chelsea in the Premier League since 2018 and only their second victory in 36 years at the venue, according to the report.
Chelsea had started the match with hopes of extending their winning run after victories over Bournemouth and Everton in their previous league fixtures. However, Xabi Alonso’s men struggled to convert their opportunities against a determined Tottenham side.
Both teams created chances in the first half, but goalkeepers Antonin Kinsky and Penders kept the score level. Chelsea came close through Cole Palmer, whose curling effort was saved by Kinsky, while Jordan Henderson also saw his low shot kept out by the Tottenham goalkeeper.
Tottenham suffered a setback when midfielder James Maddison was forced off with an injury, having made only his second start since May 2025.
Chelsea continued to search for an opening after the break, but their hopes of securing a positive result suffered a major blow in the closing stages.
Tottenham broke the deadlock in the 77th minute when Fernandes delivered an inswinging corner into the penalty area. Penders attempted to punch the ball clear but mistimed his intervention, diverting it into his own net.
The mistake handed Tottenham a crucial advantage and increased the pressure on the hosts.
Three minutes later, Palmer was shown a second yellow card for stamping on Conor Gallagher, leaving Chelsea with 10 players for the remainder of the contest.
Tottenham took advantage of their numerical superiority, with Tel producing a superb individual effort in the 87th minute to secure the result.
The forward moved past Chelsea’s defenders before drilling a fine finish into the bottom corner, leaving the hosts with little time to respond.
The victory lifted Tottenham to 12th place in the Premier League table, following their earlier win against Coventry City, which ended their wait for a first league victory of the season.
For Chelsea, the defeat was a disappointing setback under Alonso, who is still working to establish consistency during his first season in charge.
The Blues were booed by supporters at full-time after suffering their first home defeat against Tottenham since 2018.
Tottenham will now look to build on the result as they continue their league campaign, while Chelsea must regroup after a frustrating afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
