Arsenal Suffer Major Setback As Attacker Suffer Ankle Ligament Damage

According to a report by Football London on Wednesday November 4, 2026, tragically, Arsenal have learned that teenage sensation Andria Bartishvili will miss the better part of two to three months of the season due to ankle ligament damage.

After agreeing to a pre-contract arrangement earlier this year, the Gunners are set to sign the 17-year-old Georgian attacker next summer. His move is officially confirmed for July 2027 in England.

Iberia 1999, his current club, confirmed the injury, and the Geo team reported that he will need some time to recover. In addition, Simon Collings brought attention to the Georgian side's public announcement that was made online today.

Bartishvili has been loaned out by Kolkheti 1913 to play for Iberia 1999. Already this season, the youngster has made an impression in senior football thanks to his versatility; he can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder.

He has made significant contributions to Georgia's youth teams, contributing goals and assists along the way. Despite his young age, he has already reached the under-21 level. His development and competitive progress have been severely hindered by this injury at a crucial stage.

His chances of gaining more experience before the winter break with Iberia are diminished due to a two- to three-month absence that will probably keep him out for the rest of the year.

Rather than rushing him into action for the first team at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal plans to ease him into his new role via the academy and under-21 teams once he arrives in north London.

The agreement is unaffected, even tough the setback makes his preparation less certain. Bartishvili will continue to be contracted to his current clubs until summer 2027, as originally planned, and his rehabilitation will be overseen in Georgia.

After keeping an eye on his progress, the Gunners will be ready to welcome him back next season. In order to be ready for his move to England, the youngster must undergo a full recovery and return to training without any setbacks.
