Premier League Table After Arsenal Won 1-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Arsenal claimed an important 1-0 win over Liverpool, thanks to Kai Havertz’s first-half goal. Mikel Arteta’s men produced a disciplined defensive display to withstand sustained pressure from the hosts and secure all three points.

The decisive moment came in the 16th minute when Declan Rice picked out Havertz with an excellent delivery into the penalty area. The German forward showed composure to finish from close range and put Arsenal ahead.

Liverpool attempted to respond by committing more players forward, with Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz all involved in their attacking moves. However, Arsenal’s backline remained compact, frustrating the hosts with timely interceptions, blocks and well-organised defending.

Goalkeeper David Raya was also instrumental in keeping Liverpool at bay. The Spaniard dealt confidently with crosses and made important interventions whenever the home side threatened to find an equaliser.

Liverpool came particularly close to restoring parity in the 39th minute when Wirtz’s free-kick crashed against the crossbar. Alexis Mac Allister also wasted an opportunity with a headed effort as Arsenal managed to preserve their lead until the interval.

At the other end, Rice and Bruno Guimaraes had opportunities to increase Arsenal’s advantage, but neither managed to find the net. Alisson produced a comfortable save to deny Rice and keep Liverpool’s hopes alive.

Liverpool enjoyed periods of possession after the restart but struggled to turn their territorial advantage into clear scoring opportunities. Arsenal remained organised defensively, while Noni Madueke and Christos Tzolis offered attacking threats whenever the visitors moved forward.

Tzolis came close to doubling Arsenal’s lead in the 73rd minute, forcing Alisson into an impressive reflex save. Liverpool subsequently introduced additional attacking options, including Rio Ngumoha, as they searched desperately for a late equaliser.

Despite their efforts, the hosts could not find a way through Arsenal’s defence. Attempts from Ngumoha and Ronald Araujo were dealt with by the visitors, who remained composed throughout the closing stages.

Arsenal eventually held on to their narrow advantage, with Havertz’s early strike proving enough to settle the contest. The victory highlighted Arteta’s side’s defensive discipline, resilience and ability to manage difficult moments against a determined Liverpool team.
