According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday October 22, 2026, Barcelona forward Gabriel Jesus could give Hansi Flick an important attacking advantage against Real Madrid in Sunday's El Clasico, thanks to his impressive record against the Spanish giants.
The Brazilian has previously troubled Los Blancos during his Manchester City career, and his performances could make him a valuable option for Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Jesus has faced Real Madrid four times in the Champions League while representing Manchester City. He recorded three victories and one defeat in those encounters. The 29-year-old also contributed three goals and one assist against the Madrid side.
His first memorable performance came in February 2020 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Jesus scored City's equaliser in a 2-1 victory after starting on the left wing under Pep Guardiola.
The Brazilian continued his impressive form during the return leg. He dispossessed Raphael Varane to set up Raheem Sterling's opening goal before finding the net himself in City's victory.
Jesus also scored against Madrid during the first leg of the 2021-22 Champions League semi-final. Manchester City won that thrilling encounter 4-3, although Real Madrid eventually produced a dramatic comeback in the return fixture to eliminate the English club.
The forward has made an encouraging start to his Barcelona career this season. He has scored four goals in just 234 minutes across seven appearances, demonstrating his effectiveness in front of goal.
His scoring efficiency could make him a useful weapon for Flick during Sunday's crucial encounter. Jesus offers more than goals, as his aggressive pressing, intelligent movement and ability to operate in wide areas could trouble Madrid's defence.
Barcelona already possess several attacking threats, but Jesus could provide additional firepower if introduced from the bench. His previous success against Los Blancos could also boost his confidence ahead of the highly anticipated meeting.
However, his historical record does not guarantee another outstanding performance against Madrid. Flick's decision to use the Brazilian will ultimately determine whether he gets an opportunity to influence the contest.
