WSL Table And Match Review After Man City Won 5-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester City Women delivered an outstanding performance against West Ham United Women, recording a convincing victory after dominating the match and showcasing their attacking strength.

City made an aggressive start, creating several opportunities through Lauren Hemp, Mary Fowler and Khadija Shaw. West Ham found it difficult to cope with their opponents' attacking pressure, although goalkeeper Constance Picaud-Inconnu made some crucial saves to keep the score level in the early stages.

West Ham also threatened through Viviane Asseyi, Kelly Gago and Leila Wandeler, but Ayaka Yamashita remained confident in goal. Manchester City eventually took the lead in the 38th minute when Shaw produced a clinical finish.

The Jamaican striker found space inside the penalty area before calmly directing the ball into the bottom corner, rewarding City's sustained attacking efforts and giving them a deserved advantage.

West Ham attempted to fight back but struggled to produce accurate attempts in the final third. City resumed the second half with even greater intensity and doubled their lead through Shaw's powerful header in the 53rd minute.

Lauren Hemp delivered an excellent cross for the forward, who made no mistake with her finish to register her second goal of the afternoon and further strengthen City's control of the contest.

The hosts continued to dominate and extended their advantage in the 60th minute through Aoba Fujino. The Japanese attacker finished confidently into the bottom corner after City launched a dangerous counterattack.

Manchester City's fourth goal followed in the 68th minute when Iman Beney converted Fujino's assist with a composed effort from outside the penalty area.

Shaw then completed her hat-trick in the 74th minute, firing the ball into the top corner after receiving an excellent pass from Grace Clinton to make it five goals for the home side.

West Ham were unable to mount a meaningful response during the closing stages, as Manchester City comfortably protected their advantage and secured an emphatic five-goal victory.
