Barcelona Interested in Signing Highly Rated Brighton & Hove Albion Defender

According to TEAMtalk on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Barcelona is considering bringing in Luka Vušković, a defender for Brighton & Hove Albion, next summer. However, they may encounter competition for the highly regarded center-back from Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Several big European clubs have taken notice of the 19-year-old due to his promising career as a young defender. As they look to bolster their defensive options for the upcoming summer transfer window, Barcelona is supposedly keeping tabs on his situation.

Nevertheless, signing the gifted center back will not be easy because Brighton has no intention of selling him. The Premier League club is adamant about keeping him on board despite mounting interest from other clubs because he is an integral component of their strategy.

A deal worth up to £50 million was struck to acquire Vušković's services when he joined Brighton from Tottenham Hotspur. The English club can confidently turn down offers from interested teams because his contract extends until 2031.

As they seek to maintain their position as a major contender in Spain and Europe, Barcelona has been exploring options to bolster their roster. The Catalan giants could strengthen their defense and acquire a young player to help them plan for the future.

However, the defender's transfer will be competitive, so Barcelona won't be the only club interested. It is said that Chelsea is also keen on signing the teenager, so if Brighton decides to negotiate, their Premier League rivals could battle it out for his signature.

The German football club Bayern Munich is also a possible candidate. The German powerhouses are still curious about Vušković's current situation, as they were previously following him.

The defender is reportedly amenable to a future transfer to Bayern Munich, making the Bundesliga club a potential destination for him in the event that he decides to depart Brighton.

While his openness to the idea of a transfer to Germany could benefit Bayern, it does not indicate that he has committed to playing for any one club in the future or that an agreement has been reached.

The player's desire to remain with Brighton could be the greatest challenge for Chelsea and Barcelona.

The English club are under no immediate need to sell, and should their position change, they can demand a substantial fee, because his contract is valid until 2031.

Although rumors about his future with Barcelona, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich persist, Brighton is intent on keeping the center back for the time being.

The situation might change in the upcoming summer transfer window, but any club hoping to convince Brighton to sell one of their top defensive prospects will have their work cut out for them.
