According to a report by Madrid Universal on Tuesday October 27, 2026, Real Madrid are delighted with Jose Mourinho’s progress this season following an impressive run of results that has strengthened the Portuguese manager’s position at the club.

According to SER, as reported by Defensa Central, the mood within the club hierarchy has improved significantly after Madrid secured important victories over AS Roma and Barcelona.

The 2-1 victory over Barcelona in El Clasico has been particularly significant, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice to help Los Blancos secure an important win at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The result has boosted Real Madrid’s confidence and left them just three points behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings.

Much of the credit has reportedly gone to Mourinho, whose tactical adjustments and selection decisions have helped transform the team’s performances.

The Portuguese manager has made changes to his starting lineup, deploying Federico Valverde at right-back while giving greater responsibility to Bernardo Silva, Arda Guler and Yan Diomande.

These decisions have helped Madrid improve their performances against difficult opponents, with the club hierarchy reportedly impressed by Mourinho’s ability to get the best out of his squad.

The situation represents a significant turnaround for the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager, who faced growing pressure earlier in the season.

Defeats against Real Betis and Atletico Madrid had raised questions about his future, with reports suggesting that club president Florentino Perez was considering other options.

Didier Deschamps was even mentioned as a potential replacement, while the El Clasico was reportedly viewed as a crucial test for Mourinho.

However, victories over AS Roma, RB Leipzig and Barcelona have changed the narrative surrounding his position.

Perez, who has long been regarded as one of Mourinho’s strongest supporters, is now reportedly firmly behind the manager following the team’s recent improvement.

With Real Madrid closing the gap on Barcelona and delivering impressive performances in important matches, Mourinho appears to have restored confidence within the club.

The manager will now be expected to maintain the positive momentum as Madrid continue their pursuit of silverware this season.
