According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday October 22, 2026, Barcelona legend Gerard Pique has predicted a convincing 4-1 victory for his former club against Real Madrid ahead of Sunday's El Clasico.
The former defender also compared players from both teams, favouring Barcelona in several positions while making controversial selections that could provoke reactions from Madrid supporters.
Pique shared his predictions in a TikTok video, according to Mundo Deportivo. The former Spain international assessed individual players from both sides and jokingly described his selections as objective.
Among his choices, Pique preferred Joan Garcia over Thibaut Courtois in goal. He also selected Pedri ahead of Federico Valverde and backed Lamine Yamal over Jude Bellingham.
However, his most surprising decision was ranking Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon above Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe. The comparison added another talking point ahead of the highly anticipated meeting between the Spanish giants.
Pique concluded his assessment by taking a swipe at Jose Mourinho while predicting a comfortable Barcelona victory. He recalled the Portuguese manager's infamous first visit to Camp Nou, when Barcelona defeated his Inter Milan side 5-0 in 2010.
"The first time Mourinho went to the Camp Nou, he lost 5-0. I predict 4-1," Pique stated.
Barcelona will enter Sunday's encounter hoping to justify the confidence expressed by their former defender. Hansi Flick's side have demonstrated impressive quality this season, although recent setbacks could complicate their preparations.
The Catalans suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Their injury problems have also increased concerns about their readiness for the crucial fixture.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have enjoyed encouraging performances following the international break. They secured an impressive comeback victory against AS Roma in Europe before recording a convincing win over Sevilla.
Madrid have also benefited from the strong form of players such as Mbappe and Yan Diomande. Their recent performances suggest they could pose a serious threat to Barcelona's hopes of securing victory.
With both teams having reasons for confidence, Sunday's encounter promises an intriguing contest. It remains to be seen whether Barcelona can deliver the emphatic result Pique expects or whether Real Madrid will spoil his bold prediction.
