According to a report by Metro on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Youri Tielemans has voiced his disapproval of Manchester United's tactics in the aftermath of their humiliating 4-1 Champions League loss to Como, adding further pressure on manager Michael Carrick following yet another underwhelming performance.

Manchester United have lost seven consecutive matches in all competitions, which has left fans bewildered by the team's performance and cast doubt on Carrick's capacity to improve things at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes, the club captain, voiced his displeasure with the loss as well, saying that the team was fixated on its previous successes rather than addressing the current crisis. Because of his remarks, the atmosphere on the team is even more tense, and the manager is under even more pressure to produce better results.

After the game, Tielemans spoke with the broadcaster and said that United's issues extend beyond just one part of their game. He blamed United's thrashing at the hands of Como on tactical errors, technical shortcomings, and a general lack of effort.

A mix of tactical, technical, and effort is what the Belgian midfielder put it down to. It's crucial. If your effort isn't there, your tactical acumen won't matter, and vise versa. You need to excel at everything, but we failed miserably at every aspect tonight.

Given that Manchester United's present problems have persisted over multiple matches, his evaluation implies that the club should focus on improving its overall performance instead of relying on just one or two players to turn things around.

The current losing streak is making it harder for Carrick to persuade fans that he can steer the club to success, so he must now figure out how to fix these issues fast. Players also need to own up to their actions, especially when carelessness and indifference keep costing the team big.
