According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday November 2, 2026, Barcelona are considering the possibility of selling Jules Kounde to raise funds for new arrivals, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich monitoring the French defender's situation ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
According to reports, the Catalan giants are not ruling out Kounde's departure as they look to generate funds for further reinforcements, including the possible signing of a new centre-back.
The 27-year-old's future at the Spotify Camp Nou has become increasingly uncertain following changes in Barcelona's defensive options and increased competition for places under Hansi Flick.
Kounde has struggled to maintain his usual prominence in the starting XI this season, having started only five matches so far. The French international is also currently recovering from an injury.
Barcelona's decision to use Eric Garcia at right-back, alongside the emergence of academy youngster Xavi Espart, has created additional competition for Kounde.
The club's interest in other defensive players has also contributed to uncertainty surrounding his long-term position in Flick's plans.
Despite having a contract that runs until 2030, Barcelona could consider selling the defender if an attractive offer arrives.
Chelsea are among the clubs monitoring his situation, with the Premier League side reportedly making enquiries and examining the financial conditions of a potential transfer.
Bayern Munich have also shown interest in the Frenchman, meaning Barcelona could face competition from two major European clubs if they decide to make him available.
However, Chelsea's enquiries do not necessarily mean an official offer is imminent, and any potential transfer will depend on the financial demands involved.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro as one of their possible replacements should Kounde leave.
The 27-year-old Spanish international has attracted interest from both Barcelona and Real Madrid, with the two clubs having previously made enquiries about his situation.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is also understood to be an admirer of the Tottenham right-back, who has previously acknowledged his desire to return to Spanish football in the future.
However, signing Porro would not be straightforward because Tottenham are in a strong negotiating position following his contract renewal until 2031.
The Premier League club are reportedly expected to demand more than €60 million for his signature, a figure that could make negotiations difficult for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants would therefore need to carefully assess their finances before deciding whether to pursue the Spanish defender.
For now, Kounde's departure is not guaranteed, and the Frenchman still has an opportunity to recover his place in Flick's starting XI.
Nevertheless, Barcelona's willingness to consider selling him suggests that the club could make important changes to their defensive department as they look to raise funds and strengthen the squad ahead of future transfer windows.
