According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has expressed regret over his side's performance in the opening 15 minutes of their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Reds started brightly at Anfield, dominating the early exchanges before Arsenal took the lead in the 16th minute through Kai Havertz, who finished off a fine team move.
Despite Liverpool's efforts to find an equaliser, Arsenal maintained their defensive discipline to secure all three points and strengthen their position in the title race.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after the match, Iraola admitted that Liverpool's failure to capitalise on their early dominance contributed to their disappointment.
He said, "Disappointing for us. We definitely deserved to score but weren't able. We regret the first 15 minutes until we conceded the goal but I loved after.
"We changed a little bit by being more brave and aggressive and we put them under pressure. We had some chances that we haven't finished properly. Also, they have been good defensively."
The Liverpool manager praised his players for their response after falling behind, noting that they became more aggressive and created opportunities to level the score.
However, their inability to convert those chances proved costly as Arsenal held on to their narrow advantage until the final whistle.
The defeat represents a setback for Liverpool in the Premier League title race, while Arsenal's victory moves them three points clear of Manchester City.
