Worst Players For Nigeria In The First Half Against Brazil

According to a report by Flashscore on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Nigeria's Flamingos have struggled to make their attacking dominance count in the first half of their FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup semi-final encounter against Brazil, with several players failing to convert promising opportunities into goals.

Despite showing good organisation, energy and determination, the Nigerian team have been disappointing in the final third. The Flamingos created several goalscoring opportunities through Queen Joseph, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Oluebube Umejiaku, Mary Dunstan, Kanyinsola Yusuf and Favour Nkwocha, but Brazil's goalkeeper prevented them from taking the lead.

Three Nigerian players who particularly need to improve their performances in the second half are:

1\. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi

Adegbuyi has not been at her best in the attacking department. Despite her previous contributions to Nigeria's campaign, the forward has struggled to turn her attacking movements into a decisive breakthrough against Brazil.

She needs to improve her finishing, make better decisions around the penalty area and take advantage of the opportunities that come her way in the second half.

2\. Oluebube Umejiaku

Umejiaku has also found it difficult to make a significant impact in front of goal. The Nigerian forward has been an important player throughout the competition, scoring against Poland, DPR Korea and Mexico.

However, Brazil have made life difficult for her, and she needs to be more clinical whenever opportunities arise.

3\. Queen Joseph

Queen Joseph also needs to improve her attacking contribution after failing to convert a promising opportunity in the first half. Her effort in the 21st minute was stopped by an important save from the Brazilian goalkeeper.

Although she has shown willingness to attack, Nigeria need greater precision from her if they are to break Brazil's resistance.

Overall, Nigeria have played reasonably well in terms of their organisation and determination, but their attacking performance has been disappointing. Creating chances without scoring could become a serious problem against a Brazilian side with considerable attacking quality.

The Flamingos must improve their decision-making and finishing after the interval if they want to reach their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup final.

Japan are already waiting in the final, and Nigeria will need a much more effective attacking performance to join them.

The biggest concern for Nigeria is not their general play but their inability to turn good attacking moves into goals.
