According to a report by Football London on Wednesday November 4, 2026, Arsenal have received an unfortunate update concerning teenage prospect Andria Bartishvili, who has sustained ankle ligament damage and faces an estimated two to three months away from competitive football action altogether this season.
The 17-year-old Georgian attacker is expected to join the Gunners next summer after the club agreed a pre-contract arrangement earlier this year, with his move scheduled for July 2027 officially confirmed in England.
His current club, Iberia 1999, confirmed the injury, with reports from Geo team indicating the expected recovery period. Simon Collings also highlighted the announcement made by the Georgian side publicly online today this week.
Bartishvili is currently playing for Iberia 1999 on loan from Kolkheti 1913. The versatile youngster can feature as an attacking midfielder or winger and has impressed in senior football this season already at present.
He has already contributed goals and assists while progressing through Georgia's youth teams, reaching under-21 level despite his young age. The injury now interrupts his development and competitive progress at an important stage.
A two-to-three-month absence is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the calendar year, limiting his opportunities to gain further valuable experience before the winter break arrives this season with Iberia.
Arsenal intend to introduce him gradually after his arrival in north London, with the academy and under-21 sides expected to provide his initial pathway rather than immediate first-team involvement at Emirates Stadium initially.
Although the setback adds uncertainty to his preparation, the agreement remains unchanged. Bartishvili's rehabilitation will be overseen in Georgia, where he remains contracted to his current clubs until summer 2027, as originally planned.
The Gunners will monitor his recovery before welcoming him next year. A complete rehabilitation and successful return to training will be important as the youngster prepares for his eventual move to England there.
