According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has confirmed his departure from the club after six years at Old Trafford, bringing his time with the Premier League side to an end.
Tagoe announced his exit in a post on LinkedIn, reflecting on his time at United and expressing gratitude to the colleagues he worked with during his spell at the club. He also looked ahead to the next stage of his professional career.
“Big thanks to Manchester United for the last 6 years. My time has come to an end, it’s been a top experience,” Tagoe wrote, describing his time at the club as a memorable experience.
He added: “Shared with some top people, and I’m grateful for every moment. Looking forward to the next part of my journey.”
Tagoe joined Manchester United in September 2020, combining recruitment and coaching duties with the management of his football development businesses. His departure marks the end of six years working within the club’s structure.
He is also the founder of Vision Football Development Academy and has worked with notable footballers, including Chelsea star Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses, further strengthening his experience in player development.
Although Tagoe’s LinkedIn employment history reportedly still identifies Manchester United as his current workplace, his farewell message indicates that his association with the club has officially ended.
His departure comes at a difficult time for United, with head coach Michael Carrick facing increasing pressure following a disappointing start to the current campaign and a series of damaging results.
Carrick enjoyed considerable success after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, guiding United from seventh to third in the Premier League and helping the club secure Champions League qualification.
However, the team’s performances have declined significantly this season. United have managed just two victories from their opening 12 matches, with defeats against Como and Bournemouth intensifying criticism.
Despite speculation about Carrick’s future, United have reportedly decided against dismissing him immediately, giving the manager another opportunity when his side faces Chelsea in their upcoming fixture.
Meanwhile, club officials have reportedly considered possible replacements, with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann emerging as potential candidates. However, there is currently no evidence linking Tagoe’s departure to the uncertainty surrounding Carrick’s managerial position.
