WSL Table After Chelsea Extended Their Dominance, Man City Won And Arsenal Failed To Secure Victory

According to a report by BBC Sport on Monday, November 2, 2026, Chelsea continued their strong start to the Women’s Super League season with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Charlton Athletic, maintaining their position at the top of the table.

The Blues delivered an outstanding attacking performance, scoring four times within the opening 19 minutes before adding two more goals after the interval to complete a convincing victory.

The result takes Chelsea to 22 points from eight matches, preserving their unbeaten record in the league this season.

Manchester City also kept up the pressure on the leaders after securing a 2-1 away victory against London City Lionesses.

Khadija Shaw gave City the advantage before Jana Fernandez brought the hosts level. However, Lauren Hemp found the decisive goal to ensure that Manchester City collected all three points.

The victory leaves City with 22 points from eight matches, the same total as Chelsea. However, the London club remain top because of their superior goal difference, having recorded +23 compared to City’s +12.

Meanwhile, Arsenal dropped valuable points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa.

Chasity Grant put Villa ahead, leaving the Gunners chasing the game before Alessia Russo scored an 85th-minute equaliser to rescue a point for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur moved into fourth place following a convincing 4-1 win over Birmingham City. Brighton also recorded a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace, while West Ham United produced an impressive display to defeat Liverpool 4-1.

Following the latest round of fixtures, Chelsea lead the standings with 22 points, while Manchester City occupy second place with the same number of points.

Tottenham are fourth, with Manchester United sitting fifth on 12 points. Arsenal, meanwhile, remain seventh with 10 points after their disappointing draw against Aston Villa.

At the bottom of the table, Charlton Athletic are enduring a difficult campaign, sitting 14th without a single point after eight matches.

With Chelsea and Manchester City continuing to collect victories, the battle for the WSL title is becoming increasingly competitive. Arsenal, on the other hand, will need to find greater consistency if they hope to close the gap on the leading teams as the season progresses.
