According to a report by BBC Sport on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Bayern Munich and Arsenal shared the points after playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their UEFA Champions League encounter. The match featured several scoring opportunities, outstanding saves from both goalkeepers and a determined late comeback by the Premier League side.
Arsenal encountered an early setback when Bukayo Saka suffered an injury and was replaced by Eberechi Eze in the 10th minute. Bayern gradually increased their attacking pressure, forcing Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya to make important interventions to keep his team in contention.
The visitors initially thought they had found the breakthrough, but Eze's first attempt was ruled out for offside. However, the winger eventually put Arsenal ahead in the 26th minute, calmly finishing Martin Odegaard's excellent through ball into the bottom-right corner of the net.
Bayern responded by increasing their attacking intensity, with Serge Gnabry testing Raya before the hosts eventually found an equaliser. In the 35th minute, Harry Kane delivered a decisive pass to Alphonso Davies, who finished accurately into the bottom-right corner to bring the German champions back into the contest.
Both teams continued searching for another goal before the interval, creating promising opportunities without managing to establish a lead. The first half therefore ended with the score level at 1-1 after an entertaining exchange between the two sides.
Bayern returned for the second half with renewed determination and immediately looked to regain control. In the 49th minute, Raya produced an important save to deny Dayot Upamecano's header. Arsenal also threatened through Bruno Guimaraes, whose header was brilliantly stopped by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
The hosts eventually moved ahead in the 61st minute after Jurrien Timber handled the ball inside Arsenal's penalty area. Kane took responsibility for the resulting spot-kick and confidently converted it, sending Raya in the opposite direction to give Bayern a 2-1 advantage.
Arsenal refused to surrender and introduced Viktor Gyokeres to strengthen their attacking options. Their persistence was rewarded in the 82nd minute when Declan Rice finished calmly after receiving a pass from Gyokeres, restoring parity at 2-2.
Both teams pushed for a winning goal during the closing stages, but neither could find another breakthrough. Timber tested Neuer with a powerful effort in stoppage time, only for the goalkeeper to produce another impressive save.
The final whistle confirmed a 2-2 draw, with Arsenal demonstrating resilience to recover from behind while Bayern were left frustrated after surrendering their second-half lead.
