According to a report by Madrid Universal on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Real Madrid are preparing to officially confirm Arda Guler’s contract extension as the club continue efforts to secure the long-term futures of their most important players.
Despite reported disappointment surrounding Vinicius Junior’s contract renewal during the summer, the Spanish giants remain committed to retaining their emerging talents. Several contract-related announcements are reportedly expected before the end of December.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Madrid are preparing to announce Guler’s new deal, with the agreement already signed by the Turkish midfielder.
Guler’s previous contract was due to expire in 2029, but the new agreement reportedly extends his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2031, adding another two years to his existing commitment.
Negotiations are said to have been completed in September, meaning the terms have already been settled. The club are now expected to make the agreement official, underlining their confidence in the midfielder’s long-term potential.
When Guler first joined Madrid, he was viewed as a promising young talent but faced difficulties securing a regular starting position. His situation has reportedly improved this season under manager Jose Mourinho, who has given him greater responsibility in the attacking areas.
The Portuguese coach has increasingly trusted Guler to contribute alongside Jude Bellingham, with the pair offering creativity and a greater attacking threat in the final third.
The midfielder’s performances have helped justify that confidence. Across 11 competitive appearances this season, Guler has reportedly recorded three goals and five assists, highlighting his growing influence within the squad.
His development has strengthened the case for offering him greater contractual security, particularly as Madrid look to build a team around players capable of making a significant contribution over the coming years.
Extending Guler’s contract until 2031 would represent a clear indication of the club’s belief in his future. The next challenge for the 21-year-old will be to sustain his current progress, deliver consistently and establish himself as one of Madrid’s leading players.
