Birmingham City Return to Winning Ways with 3-1 Victory Over Lincoln

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Birmingham City strengthened their promotion ambitions with a 3-1 victory over Lincoln City at the ProAmpac Stadium, thanks to a brace from August Priske.

The Danish forward scored in both halves before Alex Cochrane added a third goal to secure Birmingham's fourth away victory of the Championship season and move them up to second place in the table, pending the outcome of other matches.

Lincoln, who were hoping to record consecutive league victories for the first time in 66 years after beating Burnley 4-1 the previous weekend, started brightly and nearly took the lead through Mikkel Ladefoged. The forward connected with a loose ball inside the penalty area and unleashed a powerful low effort, but his strike came back off James Beadle's right-hand post.

Birmingham gradually grew into the contest and threatened through Jay Stansfield, whose volley went narrowly wide. The visitors eventually broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Yunus Konak diverted a forward pass into Priske's path, allowing the striker to finish into the corner.

Lincoln attempted to respond before the interval, with Dom Jefferies and Deji Elerewe both testing Beadle. The Birmingham goalkeeper produced two important saves during stoppage time, including an excellent point-blank stop with his thigh to deny Elerewe and preserve his side's advantage.

Beadle was unable to continue after the break and was replaced by Ryan Allsop. However, the goalkeeper change did not prevent Birmingham from extending their lead in the 60th minute.

Christoph Klarer flicked on a long throw into the penalty area, and Priske stretched to reach the ball ahead of Lincoln goalkeeper George Wickens before turning it into the net for his second goal of the afternoon.

Lincoln refused to give up and reduced the deficit three minutes later. Substitute Tom Bayliss, making his 100th appearance for the club, received a backheel from Ladefoged before finding the net beyond Allsop.

The hosts hoped to build on that goal, but Birmingham restored their two-goal advantage in the 73rd minute when Cochrane's effort took a deflection and went into the net.

Demarai Gray had an opportunity to make it 4-1 after being released by Tomoki Iwata, but he fired wide. Birmingham held on to claim all three points, responding positively to their previous weekend's defeat against Cardiff.
