Al Nassr coach, Postecoglou speaks after team scores six goals without Ronaldo

According to a report by Daily Post on Tuesday November 3, 2026, Al-Nassr manager, Ange Postecoglou, has reacted to his team's impressive 6-2 victory over Pakhtakor in the AFC Champions League, insisting that the Saudi Pro League side are not more effective in attack without Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al-Nassr recorded an emphatic victory over the Uzbek side on Monday despite the absence of their Portuguese superstar, who was left out of the squad for the continental fixture.

Ronaldo was rested for the encounter after producing an outstanding performance in Al-Nassr's previous domestic match, where he scored a hat-trick in just 15 minutes.

His absence did not prevent the Saudi Arabian club from delivering an impressive attacking display, as they found the back of the net six times to secure a convincing win.

The result, however, could raise questions about whether Al-Nassr are more dangerous going forward when Ronaldo is not part of the team.

Postecoglou was quick to dismiss such suggestions, making it clear that the club's attacking success should not be measured by Ronaldo's presence or absence.

Speaking after the match, the Australian manager pointed out that Al-Nassr had also scored five goals in their previous game, when the 41-year-old forward was involved.

"Cris played the last game and we scored five goals," Postecoglou said.

"If Cris plays, doesn't play, what is the most important is the players who played today performed at a very strong level," he added.

The manager's comments suggest that he is more interested in highlighting the collective performance of his players than encouraging comparisons between matches in which Ronaldo features and those he misses.

Ronaldo remains an important figure at Al-Nassr, and his recent hat-trick demonstrated that he can still make a significant contribution to the team's attacking output.

Although the six goals against Pakhtakor showed that Al-Nassr have other attacking options capable of delivering impressive performances, Postecoglou believes the team's success depends on the contributions of the entire squad.

The Portuguese forward is expected to remain a central figure in Al-Nassr's plans as they continue their campaign in domestic and continental competitions.
