Confirmed World Cup Final Fixture After Nigeria Defeated South American Giant 3-1

According to a report by ESPN on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Nigeria’s Flamingos have qualified for the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, where they will face Japan after both nations secured victories in their respective semi-final matches in Morocco.

The highly anticipated final is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat. Kick-off is set for 6:30 pm GMT, corresponding to 7:30 pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria booked their place in the final following an impressive 3-1 victory over Brazil. The Flamingos delivered a commanding performance, particularly in the second half, as they demonstrated their determination to compete for the championship.

Queen Joseph broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, giving Nigeria the advantage. Awawu Bashiru subsequently increased the lead in the 71st minute before scoring again in the 80th minute to complete her brace and put the West African side 3-0 ahead.

Brazil managed to reduce the deficit through Greise Kelly in the 89th minute, but the Flamingos maintained their advantage until the final whistle to secure a memorable victory.

Meanwhile, Japan earned their place in the final after defeating defending champions DPR Korea in a dramatic penalty shootout. Japan initially fell behind in the 52nd minute but continued fighting for an equaliser.

Their efforts eventually paid off in the 90+5th minute when an own goal brought the contest level. With neither team able to secure a winner during regulation time, the match proceeded to penalties, where Japan claimed a convincing 4-1 victory.

The outcome has set up an exciting final between Nigeria and Japan, with both countries hoping to finish their impressive campaigns by lifting the trophy.

For the Flamingos, the upcoming encounter presents an opportunity to make history by winning their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup title. Nigeria previously finished third in the 2022 edition but have now reached the final for the first time in the competition's history.

Japan will also be determined to claim the championship after eliminating the defending title holders.

Saturday's showdown will ultimately determine the new world champions, as Nigeria prepare for a crucial encounter against a Japanese side equally eager to secure the prestigious trophy.
