Max Dowman could make his first senior start in the Champions League when Arsenal face Slavia Prague, with Mikel Arteta considering seven changes to his team for Tuesday's European fixture.
According to a report by Football London on Tuesday 3 November 2026, the club's writers have predicted their starting line-ups for the encounter, with both backing the 16-year-old to feature from the beginning.
Dowman is eligible to play in Europe despite his domestic suspension following his red card during Arsenal's Carabao Cup defeat to Fleetwood Town.
His potential selection also presents an opportunity to make history as Arsenal's youngest-ever Champions League starter.
The teenager has already attracted attention with his performances for the first team, and Arteta recently praised his contribution whenever he has been involved.
Tom Canton believes the youngster deserves a starting opportunity, particularly as Arsenal look to balance rotation with the need to maintain momentum after their impressive victory over Liverpool.
Canton's predicted XI includes David Raya in goal, with Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie forming the defence.
Martin Zubimendi, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Martin Odegaard would feature in midfield, while Dowman, Viktor Gyokeres and Christos Tzolis lead the attack.
Ryan Taylor also included Dowman in his selection but preferred a different midfield combination, with Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis-Skelly and Mikel Merino supporting the attacking players.
Taylor expects Eberechi Eze to start alongside Dowman, while Gyokeres could receive another opportunity to improve his performances after struggling for consistency in recent starts.
Arsenal are looking to extend their impressive Champions League league-phase record, having not lost a fixture in the competition's current format since their defeat to Inter Milan in November 2024.
Arteta must balance the need to protect key players after the demanding trip to Anfield with the importance of securing another European victory.
Dowman's possible inclusion could therefore become one of the major talking points ahead of the encounter.
