According to a post on its official Facebook account on Thursday November 5, 2026, ESPN FC has shared photographs of Bournemouth forward Rayan performing Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark “SIUUUU” celebration after scoring in a Europa League victory, in a tribute to the Portuguese star following his reported international retirement.
The Brazilian forward struck in the 90th minute as Bournemouth defeated Sparta Prague 3–1 at the epet ARENA on Thursday.
Rayan’s late goal capped the result and prompted him to recreate Ronaldo’s signature celebration, leaping, turning in the air and landing with his arms outstretched.
ESPN FC’s Facebook post featured images of the celebration alongside the caption: “Brazilian star Rayan hitting the SIUUUU in honor of Cristiano Ronaldo's international retirement after scoring for Bournemouth in the Europa League 🇵🇹❤️🐐”
The tribute came as reports said Ronaldo had announced his retirement from international football with Portugal, bringing an end to a 23-year career with the national team.
The 41-year-old leaves with a men’s international record of 146 goals in 234 appearances.
Rayan, 20, has previously expressed admiration for Ronaldo. After the match, he posted on Instagram: “Cristiano, my idol forever ❤️”.
The match and celebration drew attention beyond the result, linking a young Brazilian forward’s European campaign with the legacy of one of football’s most recognisable players.
ESPN’s match report listed Rayan as Bournemouth’s final scorer in the 3–1 win, while Brazilian outlet ge.globo also reported that he marked his goal with Ronaldo’s “Siu” celebration.
Ronaldo’s international career has spanned generations of players and included appearances at major tournaments for Portugal.
His reported retirement announcement on Thursday prompted tributes from across the football world, with Rayan’s celebration offering a visible nod to the influence the striker has had on younger players.
