Final Group A Table After Morocco Lost 5-1 To Argentina And Germany Won 2-0

According to a report by ESPN on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the final Group A standings of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup have been confirmed following Argentina's impressive 5-1 victory over hosts Morocco and Germany's 2-0 win against New Zealand.

The results brought the group-stage campaign to an end, with Germany finishing as group winners, Argentina securing second place, Morocco occupying third position, and New Zealand finishing at the bottom.

Germany emerged as the strongest team in Group A after winning all three matches. The European side accumulated nine points, scoring eight goals and conceding three, leaving them with a positive goal difference of five.

Their final group fixture against New Zealand ended in a comfortable 2-0 victory, with Laura Ernst opening the scoring during first-half stoppage time before Clara Choisy doubled Germany's advantage in the 56th minute.

Argentina finished second with six points from three matches, recording two victories and one defeat. The South American side scored eight goals and conceded three, giving them a goal difference of plus five.

Their impressive 5-1 victory over Morocco proved decisive in securing automatic qualification for the knockout stage.

Mercedes Díaz delivered an outstanding performance against the hosts, scoring three goals as Argentina dominated proceedings. Josefina Galarza and Julieta Aguilar also found the net, while Nesma Mouradi scored Morocco's consolation goal.

Morocco finished third with three points after recording one victory and two defeats. The hosts scored seven goals and conceded nine, leaving them with a negative goal difference of two.

Despite beginning their campaign with an impressive 4-0 victory over New Zealand, Morocco subsequently suffered defeats against Germany and Argentina.

Their disappointing performance against Argentina meant they could no longer finish among the top two teams in the group.

However, Morocco still have an opportunity to reach the Round of 16 through the ranking of the best third-placed teams, depending on results from the remaining groups.

New Zealand finished fourth without securing a single point. The team lost all three matches, failed to score a goal and conceded eight, resulting in a goal difference of minus eight.

Germany finished first with nine points from three matches, three victories, eight goals scored, three conceded and a goal difference of plus five.

Argentina occupied second position with six points from three matches, two victories, one defeat, eight goals scored, three conceded and a goal difference of plus five.

Morocco finished third with three points from three matches, one victory, two defeats, seven goals scored, nine conceded and a goal difference of minus two.

New Zealand occupied fourth position with zero points from three matches, three defeats, no goals scored, eight conceded and a goal difference of minus eight.

With the group stage completed, Germany and Argentina have officially qualified for the Round of 16, while Morocco must wait to discover whether their three points will be sufficient to secure qualification as one of the best third-placed teams.

The final standings highlight Germany's dominance throughout the group stage and Argentina's impressive recovery after losing their opening match.
