On-loan Man Utd goalkeeper Andre Onana involved in terrifying car crash

According to a report by The Sun on Friday October 23, 2026, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been involved in a frightening multi-vehicle car crash in Turkey while returning home after Trabzonspor's UEFA Conference League victory over Hearts.

The Cameroon international, who is currently on loan at Trabzonspor, was reportedly involved in the accident on Thursday evening after his team secured a 2-0 win over the Scottish side.

According to The Sun, another vehicle struck Onana's car from behind at high speed, forcing his luxury vehicle into the car in front and causing a multi-vehicle collision.

The incident occurred on the Yomra road, near the Black Sea resort city of Trabzon, with emergency services rushing to the scene.

Onana was taken to hospital for medical checks but was discharged shortly afterwards, providing relief to his family, teammates and supporters.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan confirmed the incident and reassured fans that the goalkeeper was not experiencing any problems following the accident.

"Andre Onana was involved in a road traffic accident earlier this evening. There are no problems with him, and we wish him a speedy recovery," Dogan said.

Images from the scene reportedly showed damage to the front wing of Onana's Hongqi E-HS9, a luxury vehicle valued at around £100,000, alongside debris scattered across the road.

The accident came just hours after the 30-year-old helped Trabzonspor keep a clean sheet in their victory over Hearts in the Conference League.

Onana has enjoyed an encouraging spell in Turkey, keeping four clean sheets in his last five matches and attracting interest from reigning Turkish champions Galatasaray.

The goalkeeper joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in 2023 for a reported £43.8 million and helped the club win the FA Cup in 2024.

However, he moved to Trabzonspor on loan in 2025, with the Turkish club agreeing to extend the arrangement for another season in July 2026.

Despite his temporary move, Onana remains under contract with Manchester United until 2028 and has earned 53 caps for Cameroon.
