Reactions as Yan Diomande Shares Photos Spending Time With Former Leipzig Teammates on Their Bench

According to a post on his official Instagram account on Wednesday October 21, 2026, Yan Diomandé shared a warm message and photos of himself with former teammates after Real Madrid’s 4–1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The 19-year-old forward posted on Instagram following the match, showing him spending time with familiar faces on the bench and in the stadium. He reflected on the reunion and Madrid’s result in the caption: “Always special to see familiar faces again 🫂

“A great night at the Bernabéu and another important win in the @championsleague ⚡🤍”

Diomandé joined Madrid after a breakout season with Leipzig, making the Champions League fixture against his former club a notable occasion.

He came on as a substitute in the 69th minute and contributed an assist before scoring a spectacular volley late in the match.

The Ivorian did not celebrate his goal on the pitch, a gesture of respect toward the club and teammates he had recently left.

After the final whistle, however, he had the opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues, with the Instagram photos capturing the friendly atmosphere between them.

The post offered a glimpse of the personal side of a match that was also an important result for Madrid. Diomandé’s goal helped complete the 4–1 victory, while his assist added to an influential substitute appearance.

His return to face Leipzig came only months after his move to the Spanish club. Having made a strong impression in Germany, Diomandé was familiar with many of the players and staff in the visiting side.

The reunion was therefore a meaningful part of the evening, even as both teams met in a competitive European fixture.

The forward’s social media update followed a night in which he balanced professional impact with a respectful response to his former club.

He helped Madrid secure another Champions League win, but chose not to make his goal celebration the centre of attention. Instead, his post highlighted the reunion and the importance of the Bernabéu occasion.
