According to a report by Evening Standard on Monday November 2, 2026, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has offered Liverpool hope in the Premier League title race following the Gunners' 1-0 victory over the Reds at Anfield on Sunday.
Arsenal secured a crucial three points thanks to Kai Havertz's first-half goal, which came in the 16th minute after he connected with a brilliant cross from Rice at the back post.
The victory was particularly significant for Mikel Arteta's side, as it was their first Premier League win at Anfield in 14 years.
The result also strengthened Arsenal's position at the top of the Premier League table, moving them three points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are now nine points behind the league leaders following the disappointing defeat, increasing the pressure on their Premier League title ambitions.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes the Reds have already lost their chance of winning the title this season.
Speaking during Sky Sports' coverage of the encounter, Carragher delivered a blunt assessment of his former club's situation.
"It means Liverpool aren't going to win the league!" he said.
However, Rice has refused to dismiss Liverpool's chances, insisting that it is still too early in the season to make definitive predictions about the title race.
The England international believes the Premier League table should only be taken seriously around February or March, when teams will have a clearer picture of their chances of winning the competition.
He said: "Like you said, we've not won here in 14 years, so we got off to a very good start.
"I've learned that the table, you can only take it seriously in February, March. If you're there or thereabouts, then you know you're in with a shout.
"Anything now between now and then, you've got to win as many as you can."
Rice also praised Arsenal's defensive organisation and team spirit after they managed to protect their narrow advantage against Liverpool.
The midfielder believes the togetherness within the squad has been a major factor behind their impressive performances this season.
Arsenal will now turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League, where they are scheduled to face Slavia Prague on Wednesday.
They will then host Hull in their final fixture before the international break.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will face Fenerbahce in the Champions League before travelling to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Despite the nine-point gap, Rice's comments show that Arsenal are not taking anything for granted as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title.
