Gift Orban and Yira Sor scored for Amedspor, but Galatasaray held on to win a seven-goal Super Lig thriller 4-3 at RAMS Park on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The hosts raced into a 3-0 lead without their injured striker Victor Osimhen.
Rafael Leao scored in the seventh minute, and Amedspor goalkeeper Lafont put it through his own net in the 45th minute after Batrakov turned the ball inside, to make it 2-0 at the break. Batrakov added a third in the 59th minute with a shot that deflected off David Bates.
Amedspor then hit back as Dia Saba scored from a free kick in the 63rd minute, and Orban headed in Furkan Soyalp’s cross three minutes later to make it 3-2.
Barış Alper Yılmaz restored the two-goal cushion in the 80th minute, rising to head in Gabriel Sara’s cross, before Sor pulled one back for the visitors in the second minute of added time.
The 24-year-old Orban, who is on loan from Hoffenheim, went into the game level with Osimhen on nine league goals at the top of the scoring chart. He had also provided four assists in 10 league appearances.
The win lifted Galatasaray to 28 points, while Amedspor stay on 23 and Orban is now the outright leading scorer in the Super Lig.
Galatasaray also suffered a fresh injury scare. Leao went off in the 47th minute after feeling pain during a heel pass and was replaced by Deniz Gül in the 50th.
His setback follows that of Osimhen, who is recovering from knee surgery.
