Ruben Amorim is reportedly encouraging AC Milan to make a move for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, who is said to be seeking an exit from Old Trafford in January.
Fernandes, 32, has become increasingly frustrated with the situation at Manchester United this season and openly questioned Michael Carrick’s tactics following the club’s 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como.
Carrick responded by leaving Fernandes on the bench for Manchester United’s meeting with Bournemouth on Sunday, October 25. The decision failed to produce the desired result, as United suffered a 3-0 defeat.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Amorim is prepared to help provide Fernandes with a route away from Manchester United by encouraging AC Milan to pursue the midfielder.
The report claims Fernandes is now actively pushing for a transfer during the upcoming January window, raising the possibility of a reunion with Amorim.
However, AC Milan would face a substantial financial challenge in completing any deal. Fernandes currently earns €10.2 million net per season.
