The 10 Most Valuable Soccer Players in the World in 2026—Ranked

Nine of the 10 most valuable soccer players in the world currently play for different clubs.

With the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo duopoly having been dismantled by Father Time, a new wave of superstars has emerged over recent years,

With their ascent have come blockbuster transfers and unmanageable hype as a fresh era commences, with 2025 having seen an array of world-beaters continue their glistening careers.

The CIES Football Observatory has undertaken the challenging assignment of valuing world soccer’s current superstars—a range of factors influencing the estimates, including age, contract length and, of course, ability.

With that in mind, these are the 10 highest-valued players right now based on the findings.

10. Bukayo Saka

Age: 25
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $140 million (£105 million)

Bukayo Saka may divide opinion at times, but his importance to Arsenal is beyond question.

When fit, the England international is a constant source of goals and assists from the right wing, combining sharp decision-making with the creativity and composure to unlock stubborn defenses.

The “Star Boy” (or perhaps “Star Man” these days) played an integral role in helping the Gunners end their long wait for a Premier League title, lifting the trophy in 2025–26 for the first time in more than two decades.

9. Rayan

Club: Bournemouth
Age: 20
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $145 million (£109 million)

The youngest player on this list, Bournemouth and Brazil winger Rayan has a huge future ahead of him.

Unusually tall for a winger, the youngster combines explosive pace and technical skill with an imposing physical frame, making him a nightmare for defenders to contain when he hits top speed.

Rayan has adapted to life in the Premier League—and the Brazilian national team—with remarkable ease.

8. Florian Wirtz

Club: Liverpool
Age: 23
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $158 million (£119 million)

Life has been far from easy for Florian Wirtz since his move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool, but there is little doubt about the German’s extraordinary talent.

During his Bundesliga days, the attacking midfielder showcased elite technical quality, sharp creativity and the dynamism to change games in an instant. Liverpool will be hoping those qualities shine through more consistently as he settles into life on Merseyside.

7. Morgan Rogers

Club: Chelsea
Age: 24
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $166 million (£125 million)

Morgan Rogers was instrumental in Aston Villa’s impressive 2025–26 Europa League triumph, combining spectacular goals with the creativity to unlock defenses.

Since making the move to Chelsea, Rogers appears to have taken another step forward, delivering goal contributions with remarkable consistency alongside his celebration-mimicking teammate Cole Palmer.

6. Michael Olise

Club: Bayern Munich
Age: 24
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $170 million (£128 million)

Michael Olise’s time at Crystal Palace offered glimpses of his immense talent, but his move to Bayern Munich has taken his game to another level.

Surrounded by a stronger, more dominant side, the Frenchman has developed into one of the most dangerous creative forces in world soccer.

Across his first two seasons in Bavaria, Olise and his magical left foot delivered an astonishing 96 goal contributions, helping Bayern secure back-to-back Bundesliga titles. He also finished the 2026 World Cup as the tournament’s leading assist provider.

5. Désiré Doué

Club: Paris Saint-Germain
Age: 21
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $174 million (£131 million)

Désiré Doué announced himself on the biggest stage in European soccer during the 2025 Champions League final, delivering two goals and an assist as Paris Saint-Germain dismantled Inter Milan 5-0 to claim the trophy.

He has only gone from strength to strength since that breakout performance, helping PSG lift the Champions League again in 2026 while cementing his place in the France setup despite his young age.

The 2025 Golden Boy winner has all the tools to become one of the defining players of his generation if he continues on his current trajectory.

4. Vinícius Júnior

Club: Real Madrid
Age: 26
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $198 million (£149 million)

After coming close to leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2026, Vinícius Júnior now appears committed to staying in the Spanish capital for the long haul—although a tricky start to the 2026–27 campaign has led to questions about his future.

With blistering pace, dazzling dribbling and a sharp eye for goal, the Brazilian winger remains one of the most dangerous attacking players in world soccer.

3. Kylian Mbappé

Club: Real Madrid
Age: 27
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $284 million (£213 million)

Kylian Mbappé may still be chasing his first Ballon d’Or, but his standing among the game’s elite—and his enormous market value—are beyond question.

Ranked as the third most valuable player in the world, the French superstar has continued to rewrite the record books since joining Real Madrid. Already a World Cup winner with France, Mbappé reached 100 goals for the Spanish giants in just 116 games.

2. Erling Haaland

Club: Manchester City
Age: 26
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $300 million (£226 million)

Erling Haaland has earned his place among the most valuable players on the planet through sheer, relentless goal-scoring output. The Manchester City striker has redefined what it means to be a prolific No. 9.

Since arriving in England, Haaland has torn through Premier League records, winning three Golden Boots in four seasons and maintaining a scoring rate few players in history can match. At 26, he is already approaching all-time great status, with plenty of time to add to his remarkable haul.

1. Lamine Yamal

Club: Barcelona
Age: 19
Top Estimated Transfer Value: $467 million (£350 million)

Even the goal-scoring machines Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland struggle to match Lamine Yamal’s extraordinary rise.

Still a teenager, the Barcelona sensation has already won the World Cup, claimed two La Liga titles, collected the Kopa Trophy three times—the only player ever to achieve that feat—and finished as runner-up for the Ballon d’Or.

Yamal has already reached heights most players can only dream of, yet his career is still in its early stages. With plenty of room to develop further, his ceiling seems almost limitless.
