Roberto De Zerbi has named his Tottenham Hotspur starting XI for this evening’s Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Spurs will be looking to build on Monday’s 3-1 victory over Coventry City and secure back-to-back league wins for the first time this season as they look to climb out of the bottom half.
De Zerbi has made some changes to the team that beat Coventry on Monday, with Mateus Fernandes coming into the starting eleven.
James Maddison starts once again, while Sandro Tonali is also named among the midfielders.
There had been doubts over James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski heading into the fixture, despite both returning to action against Coventry. Maddison made his first start in 536 days and marked the occasion with a superb goal, while Kulusevski came off the bench for his first appearance in 526 days.
De Zerbi admitted on Friday that neither player had trained fully in the days following that match. However, the Italian subsequently confirmed that both were available for the trip to Stamford Bridge, although their minutes would need to be managed carefully.
Pedro Porro also returned to training this week after recovering from a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Destiny Udogie remains unavailable, and Rodrigo Bentancur is serving the second match of his suspension following his red card against Manchester United.
CHELSEA: Penders; Acheampong, Lacroix, Colwill; Pedro Neto, Caicedo, Henderson, Hato; Palmer, Quenda; Rogers
TOTTENHAM: Kinsky; Gray, Van Hecke, Van de Ven, Robertson; Fernandes, Tonali; Kudus, Maddison, Marmoush; Tel

Tottenham finally got their first Premier League victory of the season against Coventry, with Maddison, Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies all getting on the scoresheet. The result lifted Spurs out of the relegation zone, although they still have plenty to improve on.
Spurs have not won a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge since April 2018, when Mauricio Pochettino’s side secured a 3-1 victory. Chelsea have also made a strong start to the season and currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, having won their last two league matches.
De Zerbi will hope his side can build on Monday’s result and finally end their poor run at Stamford Bridge. A victory would give Tottenham some much-needed momentum after a difficult opening two months of the campaign.
