Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has fulfilled his promise to provide Super Falcons player Francisca Ordega with a house in recognition of her contributions to Nigerian football.

The promise was fulfilled with the formal presentation of Unit 10, Fountain Estate, Makurdi, to the international footballer.

Represented by the Group Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Dr Raymond Asemakaha, the governor praised Ordega for her dedication, resilience and achievements in football.

He urged young people in the state to learn from her determination and develop their talents, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting youths in pursuing their career goals.

Alia also assured Ordega that his government would honour its commitments to her, describing the house as part of the rewards promised in recognition of her achievements.

In her response, Ordega thanked the governor for keeping his word, saying the gesture would encourage her and other young people.

She disclosed that the promises made to her after the 2024/2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, including a ₦50 million reward and a house, had been fulfilled. However, the naming of a street in her honour was still outstanding.

According to the footballer, she had been assured that the street would be named next year.

Ordega also encouraged youths in Benue to remain focused and committed to their ambitions, noting that hard work and determination were necessary for success.

Also speaking, BIPC’s Head of Business Development and Strategy, Theresa Abeda, congratulated Ordega on the recognition and urged young people in the state to draw inspiration from her achievements.

The presentation reflects the state government’s recognition of Ordega’s contributions to football and its commitment to encouraging young talents to pursue their dreams.
