Niger Tornadoes have confirmed they are set to storm Aba, Abia State, for their Matchday 10 clash against Abia Warriors this Sunday, with one clear mission: extend their unbeaten run and finish October on a high, completesports.com reports.

This comes after a massive confidence booster in Minna last weekend when Niger Tornadoes beat Ikorodu City 2-1 at the Bako Kontagora Stadium to make it three games unbeaten (two wins, one draw).

Nafiu Obalowu opened the scoring in the 27th minute before Bashir Musa doubled the lead in the 82nd minute after reacting fastest to a rebound.

Ikorodu pulled one goal back through Basit Ayinde in the 93rd minute, but Tornadoes held firm to secure the three points.

That result lifted Majin Mohammed’s side from 15th to 11th on the NPFL table with 12 points from nine games, while Abia Warriors occupy 16th with 10 points after back-to-back draws — 0-0 vs Rivers United and 1-1 vs Kwara United.

Niger Tornadoes have struggled in this fixture recently as Abia Warriors won the last two meetings 2-1 both home and away in the 2025/26 season.

Abia have been strong at home though, unbeaten at the Umuahia Township Stadium this season with one win and three draws, scoring just five goals in nine games.

It will be a battle of two teams desperate to climb away from the bottom half and push towards the top 10.
