Rivers United and Enugu Rangers remained joint leaders of the Nigeria Premier Football League after playing out a 1–1 draw in Sunday’s clash, while Enyimba boosted their survival hopes with a 1–0 victory over Kun Khalifat.

The result at Rivers United ensured that neither side gained an advantage in the race for the top spot, with both teams maintaining their position at the summit.

The encounter provided an opportunity for either team to move clear, but they had to settle for a share of the points as the title race continued to take shape.

Elsewhere, Enyimba claimed a narrow victory over Kun Khalifat to secure three important points in their battle against relegation.

However, the win was not enough to lift the Aba giants out of the relegation zone, leaving the former champions with more work to do as they seek to turn their season around.

The result offers some encouragement for Enyimba, who will need to build on the victory and put together a consistent run of results to escape danger.

In another fixture, Plateau United and Warri Wolves also shared the points after playing out a 1–1 draw.

The stalemate meant both sides missed the opportunity to claim maximum points, with the league campaign continuing to produce closely contested encounters.

Sunday’s results kept Rivers United and Rangers level at the top, while Enyimba’s victory provided a much-needed boost in their fight for survival.
