Ligue 1 giant PSG continued their impressive Champions League campaign as they thrashed Villarreal.
Some home fans had already left the ground before the clock even hit 20 minutes, as a rampant PSG scored four times inside the opening 17 minutes.
All four of those goals stemmed from sloppy defending by the Spanish club, which was punished by an attack that has already scored four against Barcelona and Manchester City in Europe this season.
Joao Neves grabbed the first, drilling in from close range after Villarreal failed to clear a corner.
The second arrived soon after, as PSG pounced on a disastrous pass out from the back by goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi and worked the ball to Desire Doue, who fired it home.
Only a minute later Villarreal were caught out again, losing possession while playing out from the back, and Senny Mayulu drove an effort past Gulacsi.
Then it was Fabian Ruiz’s turn to get on the scoresheet, as PSG worked the ball back to the Spain midfielder in the box, who drilled it inside the near post.
Ruiz made it five after the break, producing a deft touch to send his marker to the ground before tucking the ball past Gulacsi.
The win was rounded off by 17-year-old David Boly, who surged up the flank and sent an effort in off the leg of a Villarreal defender.
PSG sit top of the league phase standings with a perfect 12 points and host Roma in their next match on 25 November (20:00 GMT). Villarreal have won just one game and travel to Slavia Prague on the same day for their next fixture (17:45 GMT).
