Champion golfer Shane Lowry has gushed over his daughter meeting one of the world's most famous footballers.
The Offaly native rubbed shoulders on Tuesday with Lionel Messi while in Miami.
Shane revealed the experience made his eldest daughter Iris' year as she greeted the Argentinian soccer star in the Inter Miami CF dressing room. The sports star beamed as he posed alongside Messi and Iris.
The nine-year-old was kitted out in her jersey, and held a ball in her hand as she posed with the star.
Shane was quick to gush over the nine time Ballon d'Or winner, calling him the 'greatest of all time.' He took to social media to share the special moment, writing: 'Got to meet the goat today… thanks @netjets for making our daughter’s year.'
People flocked to the comment sections to celebrate Iris' special moment, while also pointing out that Shane is just as legendary as Messi. 'Open a farm. All I see is goats,' one person joked, while a second person said: 'He got to meet you Shane!' A third person added: 'Go Iris!!!!!'
Wendy was also there, and shared a snap of her eldest daughter looking up at Messi as he chatted with them. 'Good excuse to miss school,' the proud mum joked. 'Big day for my baba.'
Shane and Lowry also have a younger daughter, four-year-old Ivy. While Messi might be the apple of Iris' eye right now, both girls are huge supporters of their dad.
They are regular fixtures on the PGA Tour, famously stealing the show alongside their mum, Wendy. Despite relocating to Florida for Shane's career, both girls were born in Ireland and remain his biggest fans.
