Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Nigeria’s Flamingos on their historic triumph at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, becoming the first African nation to win the tournament.

The Governor praised the team’s determination, resilience and team spirit, noting that their achievement has made Nigeria and the African continent proud while inspiring a new generation of young girls.

Sanwo-Olu also announced that he looks forward to welcoming the champions to Lagos later this week to celebrate their historic victory.
