Manchester United’s injury concerns have grown as striker Benjamin Šeško faces a potentially lengthy spell on the sidelines with a lower leg injury.
The Slovenian forward could remain out until the new year, with reports suggesting his recovery could extend into February.
Šeško has already missed several matches after another setback in the same area as the shin problem that troubled him last season.
United manager Michael Carrick previously said the club was still assessing the injury and working to establish how long the striker would be unavailable.
“We’re hoping really soon that we’ll have a clear picture,” Carrick said, adding that further assessments were needed before a clearer timeline could be provided.
Šeško’s absence adds to United’s injury concerns, with defender Patrick Dorgu also sidelined for several weeks, while Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw have had fitness concerns.
Šeško scored 12 goals in his debut season at Old Trafford. His potential extended absence could also prompt United to reassess their attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.
