Roberto De Zerbi on Dominic Solanke decision

Roberto De Zerbi has revealed why Dominic Solanke is beginning tonight's clash against Chelsea amongst our substitutes.

The centre-forward has started our last four league games on the spin but has not been named in the starting XI as we take on the Blues at Stamford Bridge this evening (Saturday 24 October) with Roberto De Zerbi explaining that the forward felt 'fatigue' after our 3-1 win over Coventry on Monday.

The forward played the full 90 minutes in that victory and provided the assist for Ben Davies' late clincher which saw us take all three points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but, having felt fatigue after the game, Roberto has opted not to risk the forward from the off at the Bridge.

However, our Head Coach has not ruled out our number 19 featuring later in the day against Xabi Alonso's side.

Speaking in west London ahead of the game, Roberto was asked why the striker was named amongst our substitutes: "He felt fatigue after the Coventry game," he replied. "But also because I am lucky to have a big squad, many solutions, many different solutions in terms of characteristics and physical characteristics. I took this decision but the game is 90 minutes."
