Raya backs Yamal to claim Ballon d’Or

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya says he hopes his Spain team-mate Lamine Yamal wins the Ballon d’Or when the award is presented on Monday, 26 October.

The 19-year-old Barcelona winger is among the leading contenders for football’s most prestigious individual prize.

Yamal helped Barcelona win the previous La Liga campaign and was also part of the Spain side that won the World Cup.

He finished second in last year’s Ballon d’Or voting, behind Ousmane Dembele.
