Barcelona are continuing to assess Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi as they plan for future transfer windows, despite having two offers worth close to 100 million euros rejected by the Premier League club last summer.
The Catalan club have made a strong start to the season but are already considering reinforcements in several areas. The attack remains a particular priority following the departure of Robert Lewandowski and Barcelona’s failure to complete a move for Julian Alvarez.
According to mediaSport, Kroupi remains among the options being examined by Deco and Barcelona’s sporting department. The club are keeping a close watch on the France-and-Ivory Coast forward and could make another attempt to sign him next summer.
At 20, Kroupi has already shown that he can be effective at the highest level. Barcelona believe his profile would suit Hansi Flick’s system, while his age and scope for further development could make him a player around whom they build a long-term project.
Those qualities have also attracted interest from a number of leading European clubs. Barcelona are therefore expected to face significant competition if they decide to pursue the forward again in the coming months.
The financial terms of any proposed deal would also be demanding. Kroupi is under contract with Bournemouth until June 2030, leaving the Cherries in a strong position when it comes to negotiations.
His market value is estimated at 70 million euros by Transfermarkt, although Bournemouth could seek a substantial transfer fee to allow him to leave. That figure would come on top of the considerable sums already involved in the offers rejected last summer.
Barcelona’s immediate focus will turn to their 10th matchday fixture in the Spanish league, when they face Real Madrid. The match has been priced at 1.65 for a Barcelona victory, 6.00 for a draw and 4.32 for a Real Madrid win.
