Chris Jericho is adding to his growing acting resume by playing one of wrestling's most iconic wrestlers.
The former AEW Men's World Champion has been cast as Gorgeous George in the forthcoming Muhammed Ali limited series, "The Greatest". The show stars Jaalen Best as the legendary boxer.
According to Deadline, who broke the news of Jericho's casting, the Prime Video series "features defining moments in Ali's life and career, both in and out of the ring, that have been well documented, and moments that took place outside the spotlight. The world remembers an icon, but The Greatest is about a man, a husband, a father, a brother and a son."
Gorgeous George was a flamboyant, charismatic wrestler who wore fur coats and came to the ring using "Pomp & Circumstance". In the 1940s, he became one of wrestling's first mainstream stars and went by the nicknames "The Beautiful Bicep" and "The Sensation of the Nation". The WWE Hall of Famer influenced many who came after him, including Ali.
Jericho will appear in the fourth episode of "The Greatest". He recently appeared in Apple TV's "Margo's Got Money Troubles" and in an episode of CBS' "Trackers". In April, Jericho revealed he'll be in "Dexter: Resurrection".
In November, "Collision" will be live from Jericho's Rock 'N Wrestling Rager at Sea. It will be the first time "Collision" has been live from the cruise and its scheduled for November 7, the same day as WWE Crown Jewel.
