Dominik Szoboszlai could be close to a return for Liverpool

Anfield plays host to yet another important Liverpool clash, as the Reds play host to Arsenal in the latest Premier League test for Andoni Iraola's side.

The Merseyside outfit comes into the weekend in fourth, having made a positive start under the Spanish head coach, with hope that he can continue to drive the team forward.

In Arsenal, Iraola may face his biggest test yet. The Gunners come into the action in second, level on points with league-leaders Manchester City, but behind on goal difference.

With those teams at the top showing some recent frailties, there could be an opportunity for Liverpool to blow the early months of the Premier League title race wide open, should the team register yet another important victory.

Any win for the hosts will have to come without some key stars, with injuries still impacting the squad. So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool injury news and updates ahead of another important match.

Dominik Szoboszlai has been struggling with a hamstring issue since the international break, after the midfielder returned with some tightness in his leg. He has since missed almost every game, returning for the clash at Brentford, only to be withdrawn early on through injury again.

While it seems as though the 26-year-old has yet to train, Iraola claimed pre-match that there is a "chance" that he could feature in some capacity against Arsenal.

Potential return date: Arsenal (H) - November 1.

Victor Munoz

Victor Munoz is another player who could return against Arsenal, having been given a chance of featuring in the squad, should he be deemed fit enough.

The winger has been out since that game at Brentford with a knee issue, which he will be hoping to make a return from sooner rather than later.

Potential return date: Arsenal (H) - November 1.

Jeremie Frimpong comes off injured not long after coming on for Liverpool in their 2-1 win at Brentford

Liverpool boss Iraola has ruled Jeremie Frimpong out of action until after the international break, following the defender's muscular problem just a few minutes after being brought on against Brentford.

It means a return against Manchester United in mid-to-late November is most likely, if the Netherlands international has followed the expected timeline to feature.

Potential return date: Manchester United (A) - November 22.

Giovanni Leoni

There was an expectation that Giovanni Leoni would make his return to full team training during the previous international break, but the defender had suffered a setback in his recovery from a serious knee injury that has kept him out longer.

The next international break has been targeted for the Italian ace to be back in the team, with some hope that he could feature in a matchday squad in late November, if he is deemed fit enough.

Potential return date: Late November 2026.

Conor Bradley is also stepping up his recovery from a serious knee injury, which has seen him unavailable since the start of the calendar year.

The right-back has long been touted as a potential return in late November, moving into December, as he looks to become part of the conversation for places in the backline.

Potential return date: Late November 2026.

Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike appears to be the last one who is likely to return, barring any fresh injuries or setbacks elsewhere. The forward has been out of action with an Achilles issue that he suffered at the back end of last season.

Ekitike is part of the Champions League squad, so there is clear belief that he could be involved by at least the January games, with a December return eyed.

Potential return date: December 2026.
